چکیده
To numerically solve squeezed gas-lm forces in a narrow air-gap between moving surfaces, an electrical-equivalent circuit mesh is formed that realizes the nonlinear, modiied Reynolds equation at discrete surface positions. The model is usable when investigating gas-lm forces for large gap displacements and pressure variations. It is also usable as a reference when simple, compact models for squeezed gas-lm forces are developed. An accelerometer model utilizing the new gas-lm model has been constructed. The time-domain large-displacement response of an accelerometer is demonstrated with a circuit simulation.

Gas Absorption with Chemical Reaction in Turbulent Flow
In order to increase the rate of gas absorption, chemical reaction in the liquid phase is considered. The purpose of this paper was to simulate gas absorption process by a liquid film over a spherical packing incorporating eddy viscosity and diffusivity. Second order chemical reaction for two different cases (fast and slow) were considered. The system partial differential equations obtained...
متن کاملDesign and Analysis of a Rayleigh Saw Resonator for Gas Detecting Applications
Polymer coated gas-phase sensors using the classical Rayleigh-type surface acoustic wave (RSAW) mode showed higher sensitivity and larger dynamic range compared to bulk acoustic wave (BAW) sensors, being widely used in a variety of sensor systems for chemical and biological gas detection. Using Comsol Multiphysics software, we investigated a 2D finite element model of a Surface Acoustic Wave (S...
متن کاملA Nonlinear Dynamic Model With Confidence Bounds for Hydrodynamic Bearings
In conventional rotordynamic modeling, hydrodynamic bearings are often characterized by a set of linear stiffness and damping coefficients obtained from a first-order Taylor series expansion of bearing reactions. Theoretically, these coefficients are only valid for small amplitude motion about an equilibrium position. In this paper, a nonlinear dynamic model that overcomes the small amplitude a...
متن کاملAN ASSESSMENT OF DERIVATIVE DETERMINING TECHNIQUES USED FOR MOTION ANALYSIS* Abstract-All kinematic studies of human motion employ measurement techniques
All kinematic studies of human motion employ measurement techniques which introduce noise into displacement data. Commonly, the data, as time related functions, are differentiated to produce velocity and acceleration information. Unfortunately, differentiation amplifies the noise present to such an extent that additional signal treatment is essential. The study was conducted to compare film gen...
متن کاملAn efficient finite difference time domain algorithm for band structure calculations of Phononic crystal
In this paper, a new algorithm for studying elastic wave propagation in the phononic crystals is presented. At first, the displacement-based forms of elastic wave equations are derived and then the forms are discretized using finite difference method. So the new algorithm is called the displacement-based finite difference time domain (DBFDTD). Three numerical examples are computed with this met...
